Daniel S. Wasson Merger

The Milford Junior Major League is pleased to announce the merger with Daniel S. Wasson / Babe Ruth Baseball League effective 6/25/10.

This merger will provide the largest youth baseball program for ages 4 – 18 in the City of Milford.

The combined leagues will continue to participate in the Pony Baseball, Babe Ruth and Senior Babe Ruth programs to provide your child with the best opportunity to play real baseball. The Pony program offers fields sized to the player’s age groupings starting at 50’ bases for ages 4-8, 60' bases for ages 9-10, 70’ bases for ages 11-12 and 80’ bases for ages 13-14. The Babe Ruth program offers a full size 90’ diamond for ages 15 and up along with travel teams to play surrounding towns. All programs offer the opportunity for National Tournament competition.

New Addition:

Milford JML is pleased to announce that an automatic external defibrillator (AED) has been installed at the Francis Field Concession Stand. A second unit will be installed at Conklin Field. It is believed that these are the first AED's to be installed at a youth baseball field in Milford.

A special thanks goes out to the Robbie Levine Foundation who if not for their generosity, the procurement of these devices would not have been possible. The units are placed in service in memory of Robbie Levine who tragically died on the field. Emergency Medical Group of Norwalk was also paramount in the purchase of the devices.

A special thanks also goes out to Mark Hennequin for his coordination in obtaining and installing the AED's. Mark and Scott Monforte also provided training in the use of the devices as well as the CPR training for league members. All this goes towards providing the safest environment for everyone involved on the fields of Milford Junior Major League.

Mission Statement:

The purpose of the Junior Major League, Inc is to organize, direct, teach sportsmanship, and coach children between the ages of four and eighteen in playing organized baseball. Years ago when other organizations were accepting players based on talent alone, the founders of the Junior Major League saw an opportunity to create an organization where all youths were accepted regardless of their ability or gender. Today, many of the other youth organizations follow this same principal. br />
The league is a local affiliate of PONY Baseball inc. PONY is an acronym for Protect Our Nations Youth.
